Our two sons' names have one thing in common. They are both derived from combination of a saint's name and a character in the epic King Arthur. We chose the patron saints of their mother's home town who are St. Peter and St. Paul.
St. Peter, also known as Simon, is the leader of the 12 apostles of Christ. He is considered as the rock of the Christian faith. Because of his strong faith he was able to walk with the Lord on the surface of the sea water.
St. Paul, known as the 13th apostle is also called Saul. He was on his way to Damascus when he was converted. He saw a very bright light and fell to the ground hearing the voice of God. He was one of the most notable missionaries of the early Christians.
Tristan and Lancelot are known to be dragon slayers in the legendary story of Arthur and the knights of the round table in search of the holy grail. They are both brave and skillful warriors.
Hence, the names Tristan Paul and Simon Lance. Both names carrying the symbols of a dragon and a saint.
